How to manually add a Data Table to Feature Files

Description

A Data Table can be added to a Feature File. When Data Tables are added this way, the user will need to manually add each row of data in the table.

Note: G-Data Tables can be added to a Feature File, which dynamically calls GenRocket components such as Scenarios, thus making it possible to use synthetically generated data when testing. To learn more, click here.

How to add a Data Table to a Feature File

  • Select an option within the Data Table drop-down menu (e.g., list of list, list of maps).
  • Enter the Number of Columns and then click on the Add Columns button.
  • Enter each Column Name and the Data Values for each column. Then click the Save button.

Note: Use the Minus (-) to remove a column from the Data Table.
  • A preview of the data table can be seen within the G-Feature File Management Dashboard:

Note: Once a Data Table is added, the icons within the Actions Column can be used to edit, remove, and copy it within the Feature File.
