XTS Wizard Overview

What is the XTS Wizard?

The XTS Wizard contains a set of easy-to-use wizards that can be used to import an XTS file into a selected Project Version of a given Project and complete important setup steps after the import has been completed. 

XTS is a multi-step process that includes important setup steps that are accomplished using multiple wizards:

When should XTS Wizard be used?

  • Any time you need to import an XTS file into a selected Project Version of a given Project.

Who should use XTS Wizard?

  • Data Architects - This persona will complete all steps for most organizations.
  • Test Data Engineers (TDEs) - Alternative persona when a Data Architect is not present.

How to access XTS Wizard

The XTS Wizard can be accessed in two ways:

Method 1:

  • Select a Project within the Project Dashboard.
  • Next, expand the Self Serve Options Menu for a Project Version and select XTS Wizard.

Method 2:

  • Expand the New Domain drop-down menu and select Import from XTS.

How does XTS Wizard Work?

XTS Wizards currently contains several wizards that can be used to import an XTS file, validate Parent-Child-Sibling relationships, tune Generators, assign Receivers, and more.

For Steps 1-6, the user must mark the step as completed. Additional wizards will be available once a step has been marked as completed.

Step 1: XTS Import Wizard Import an XTS File into a selected Project Version in a Project.
Step 2: Domain Referencing Wizard Verify and set Parent-Child-Sibling relationships between imported Domains.
Step 3: Generator Tuning Wizard Adjust Generators across multiple Domains and Attributes to fine-tune test data accuracy and view statistics.
Step 4: Receiver Assignment Wizard Assign a selected Receiver to a filtered set of Domains.
Step 5: Scenario Assignment Wizard Create and assign a Scenario to a filtered set of Domains.
Step 6: Domain Family Wizard (G-Families) Filter and categorize Domains into families of related Domains.
 
Edit: Attribute Modification Wizard Globally modify Attribute Parameters within a filtered set of Domains.
Edit: Receiver Modification Wizard Filter to a set of Domains, select a Receiver, modify its parameters, and update all matching Receiver parameters within the filtered set of Domains.
Delete: Receiver Delete Wizard Filter to a set of Domains, select a Receiver, and remove the Receiver from each Domain.
Delete: Scenario Delete Wizard Filter to a set of Domains, select one or more Scenarios, and have the matching Scenarios removed from each Domain.
